BEN BAUMRIND, M.D.

Dr. Ben Baumrind received his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed a residency at Rutgers University Hospital, where he served as chief resident in 2013. Dr. Baumrind continued expanding his expertise through a fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery in Vinings, GA.

Dr. Baumrind is an active member of the American Medical Association and American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is driven to deliver top-quality care in a positive and constructive environment.

Allergic Conjunctivitis

Allergic conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the eye caused by allergens such as pollen, dust, or pet dander, leading to redness, itching, and tearing. Treatment typically includes antihistamine eye drops, anti-inflammatory medications, and lifestyle adjustments to manage and minimize exposure to allergens .

Cataracts

Cataracts are a common eye condition where the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy, leading to blurred vision and difficulty with daily tasks. Treatment involves cataract surgery, where the cloudy lens is replaced with a clear, artificial one, restoring vision and improving quality of life. While Dr. Baumrind does not perform cataract surgery, he can evaluate and refer accordingly to a local highly skilled cataract surgeon.

Age Related Macular Degeneration

Age-related macular degeneration is the leading cause of vision loss in individuals over 50, affecting the central part of the retina and making tasks like reading and recognizing faces increasingly difficult. At Baumrind Eye, we diagnose and treat macular degeneration by utilizing the latest injectable therapies for both the wet and dry forms of the condition.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of reversible vision loss.
Dr. Baumrind offers the latest in treatment options including but not limited to laser therapy and intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF medications or steroids.

Dry Eye

Dry eye occurs when the eyes do not produce enough tears or the tears evaporate too quickly, and treatment options include artificial tears, prescription eye drops, and lifestyle changes to manage symptoms.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, often due to increased eye pressure, and can lead to irreversible vision loss if not managed with treatments like eye drops, laser therapy, or surgery.

Whereas we do not bill vision insurance, patients can use their vision insurance benefits to purchase glasses and or contacts at one of our preferred optical shops.
